Power-One Renewable Energy Solutions, the world's second largest provider of solar inverters, has partnered with Superior Technical Resources to assist in hiring for its manufacturing facility located in Phoenix, AZ. Power-One designs and manufactures energy-efficient power conversion and power management solutions, including inverters for alternate/renewable energy (solar and wind) and products for routers, data storage and servers, wireless communications, optical networking, semiconductor test equipment, industrial markets and custom applications.

Power-One, with headquarters in Camarillo, California, has global sales offices, manufacturing, and R&D operations in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The Renewable Energy Solutions SBU at Power-One designs, manufactures and sells inverters and related infrastructure products for the solar and wind markets. Power-One's newest facility supporting the Renewable Energy Solutions group is located in Phoenix, Arizona and it will produce its industry-leading photovoltaic and wind inverters, including single phase (2-6KW) and three phase string inverters, and NEMA 3R 250KW and 300KW central inverters.

Position Overview:

Engineering Technician is responsible for performing testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on high voltage high power units and equipment in a high volume electronic manufacturing environment. Equipment included but not limited to, set up, calibration, and maintenance of various automated and not automated hand tools, volume mechanical assembly conveyors, and electronic assembly equipment. This position will interact with cross functional teams in continuous improvement lean / six sigma activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up, operating and maintaining equipment to insure production goals are met.
  • Implementing of new production / automation equipment.
  • Responsible for training staff on production and automation equipment and maintenance.
  • Communicate equipment issues to management.
  • Runs thermal profiles for reflow and wave solder ovens.
  • Troubleshooting and testing production units.
  • Set up and program paste print processes.
  • Set up and program pick and place machines.
  • Set up and program automated production line conveyors.
  • Trouble shoot processes related to equipment caused defects.
  • Perform regular routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Adhere to ISO 9000 quality system and environmental requirements.
  • Responsible for periodical calibration of all relevant measurement instruments to meet the quality standards. Talent and Resources, Aligned.

Qualifications:

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Associates degree required.
  • 3 years minimum Electronics experience required.
  • 3+ years of Electronics manufacturing experience.
  • 3 yrs. Minimum Experience programming automated electronics process equipment.
  • 3 yrs. Minimum experience using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and internet.
  • Ability to lift up a minimum of 50 Lbs.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience in critical spare parts inventories planning
  • Skilled in detail bug reporting and problem analysis.
  • Strong analytical and communications skills are needed, as well as an ability to collaborate and work well within both a team environment and independently.
  • Ability to utilize equipment schematics and assembly plans to effectively trouble shoot electromechanical problems
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting compressed air systems.
  • Understanding of how, and ability to optimize automation production machinery equipment.
  • Results orientation.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Performs multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must meet frequent deadlines.
  • Must provide timely service to internal customers.
  • Must work with others as part of a team.
