Position Overview:
In line with our expansion plans we are currently recruiting for the position of Engineering Manager (m/f) to be based in San Francisco/San Mateo.
This role is responsible for developing and delivering the technical management strategy in support of, and contributing to the overall business strategy, operations and commercial objectives.
The position holder will lead the technical aspects that support large scale solar PV project development in the areas of due diligence, system design, and construction.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate project feasibility including site visits and due diligence
- Develop electrical/structural designs for large scale solar projects
- Review and validate technical documents, including electrical single line, wiring diagrams, schematics, electrical, structural, site plan drawings, and O&M manuals
- Identify, evaluate and direct subcontractor and consultant project services and deliverables
- Establish procedures for development of site permitting and interconnection requirements
- Prepare reports and communicate design/project activity
- Identify, prioritize and schedule project/design initiatives
- Coordinate bill of materials development and supplier recommendations
- Perform site audits
- Write and/or provide support on reports, articles, issue briefs, and memorandums on technical issues and best practices for both internal and external use
Qualifications:
- Completed Electrical Engineering degree
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in the solar industry, including engineering and design of utility scale solar parks, dealing with utilities, and permitting/interconnection procedures
- Successful track record in project execution
- Familiarity with the performance of a variety of PV solar technologies and the O&M of the equipment found in power systems
- Self-motivated and self-sufficient with exceptional written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills
- German language skills an advantage.
