Description
We are a small cooperative medicinal herb farm, committed to avoid waste, and involved in appropriate technology. So far we have worked on hot water wood heaters, use of waste vegetable oil for transportation and heating, winter ice refrigeration, steel fiber ferrocement and other low cost buildings, at our Galway farm near Saratoga or at our Caroga Lake farm in the Adirondacks wilderness. Degrees required: a basic degree of sanity, with ability to cooperate in the common interest.
We need more people interested in any of our or of similar activities. In particular, we want to invest in a serious effort to build 1) vacuum maple syrup boiler 2) distributive solar collectors with central vacuum tube or with central oven. For your work you get shares of our farm--and of eventual profits--and equal share of business. Option of getting outside job or working on your own private business full time, using our space and tools, as long as you spend your weekend on farm projects.
At present, we can guarantee only basic needs: food, winter clothes, heat, power, private room or cabin, telephone, computer, cable or dsl connection, sailboat, windsurfer, tobacco if required, and--for full time work--medical insurance and car insurance. Smoking limited to outdoors or to your own cabin.
