ENERGY STAR Marketing Associate

D&R International is an energy and environmental consulting firm that supports the U.S. DOE and U.S. EPA's ENERGY STAR program. Based in Silver Spring, D&R works with state governments, utilities, product manufacturers and national retailers to help build sustainable markets for resource-efficient products and services.

D&R is seeking a junior associate to help develop utility-funded marketing efforts for ENERGY STAR qualified products. The position entails working with utilities and state governments to develop both marketing and program ideas, and then coordinating with retailers and manufacturers on execution.

Responsibilities include understanding utility policy and general market trends, gathering and analyzing information on utility energy-efficiency program efforts nationally, developing recommendations to improve the market effectiveness of these utility programs, producing reports on various utility initiatives nationwide, and preparing detailed written and oral reports for clients and utilities. 

The ideal candidate is committed to market-based solutions to resource efficiency issues, demonstrates creative thinking and personal initiative, and handles the demands of a rapidly changing work environment. Experience with marketing and energy or utility stakeholders is a plus. Excellent oral and written communications skills and attention to detail a must, as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities. Must possess a bachelor's degree or better, 1-3 years work experience in a related field, and have a proven track record of success in working with multiple internal and external clients.
