Position Overview  

RISE Engineering is seeking Energy Specialists to conduct energy assessments of small/medium commercial and industrial buildings on behalf of utilities and energy program sponsors. Energy Specialists identify potential energy-efficiency measures and develop and present proposed work plans to energy end-users.

These positions support RISE Engineerings growth in the Providence, Boston, Cape Cod and Albany markets. Excellent career opportunity for individuals with residential energy-efficiency experience who are interested in serving larger buildings and more complex systems or for candidates with specialized experience in applicable technologies. 

Responsibilities 

• Evaluate upgrade opportunities for building envelope improvements, including shell insulation, air infiltration reduction and other weatherization measures. 
• Develop proposals for recommended energy-efficiency measures, including accurate cost estimates. 
• Present proposals and associated benefits, costs and savings to customers and secure approval to proceed. 
• Coordinate all available incentives and financing options, including utility-company rebates. 
• Develop and nurture client relationships, and follow up as necessary V ensure high customer satisfaction. 
• Qualify prospects and tailor audits and analyses to their needs. 

Qualifications 

• 3 to 5 years of building weatherization experience. 
• Strong analytical, writing and communications skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to tactfully manage customer relationships. 
• A commitment to and enthusiasm for energy efficiency. 
• Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. 
• High school diploma or equivalent plus post-high-school studies in a relevant technical discipline. 
• Other combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis. 
• A valid drivers license, clean driving record and the ability to travel daily to customers businesses. 
• Physically able to fulfill job functions, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying and climbing step ladders. 
• Able to pass criminal background and drug screening tests. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• AEE Certified Energy Manager, BPI Envelope Professional or other energy-related certification. 
• Experience with energy management systems, HVAC controls and/or lighting and electrical systems. 
• Experience working with/for utility companies and securing available incentives for energy end-users. 
• Business-to-business sales experience. 
• Bachelors degree in electrical/mechanical engineering or an electrical/mechanical trade license.
