Platte River Power Authority is the provider of low-cost, reliable and environmentally responsible electricity to the municipalities of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland Colorado.
The Energy Services Specialist position would be based in Fort Collins, recently rated as the best small city in which to live by Money Magazine
Job Overview:
The Energy Services Engineer is responsible for energy efficiency and renewable energy program operations.
Key functions include running existing efficiency programs (technical analysis, management and marketing) and developing new programs. This position may also provide other energy services including energy audits, power quality assessments, new construction/retrofit design review and distributed generation analysis.
Programs and services are provided directly or through close interaction with other service providers (vendors, contractors, etc.). This position also supports Platte River's renewable energy program, including operation of the Medicine Bow Wind Project and evaluation/acquisition of new renewable sources.
This is a full time position with regular attendance required.
Requirements:
A balance of technical, program management and marketing skills is required.
Required qualifications include a degree in engineering from an accredited four-year institution and at least three years of experience in energy efficiency program operations.
Significant program operations experience combined with a degree in business, mathematics or other technical field may be substituted for the engineering degree requirement. A thorough knowledge of PC based software and excellent communication skills are required.
Desirable qualifications include experience working with commercial customers and energy service providers located along the Front Range of Colorado. Experience working with vendors or contractors, familiarity with energy use monitoring methods and equipment and renewable energy program experience are also desirable. Self-motivation and creativity will be expected and encouraged in an efficient, small-group work environment.
