Description

Nonprofit organization serving state govt. energy offices seeks mid-level professional to work with members and outside groups on a range of energy programs, including energy efficiency in public buildings, energy system reliability, high performance schools, electricity transmission and distribution, wind energy, state energy policy, energy/environment integration, and others.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage and staff two grant-funded education and technical assistance projects on "green schools" and energy assurance (preventing/mitigating energy emergencies and supply disruptions). Work with contractors, oversee budgets, and ensure deliverables and reports.

* Help staff new projects on electricity transmission, state energy policy, integrating efficiency and renewables into environmental activities, and other current energy issues.

* Assist state energy offices in implementing educational programs and collecting/distributing information.

* Help plan, organize, promote and manage several national and regional meetings and workshops.

* Prepare articles, reports and fact sheets; support writing of new grant proposals.

* Respond to inquiries for technical assistance; staff association committees.

* Regularly interact with members, other government agencies, and energy-related nonprofits and associations.

REQUIREMENTS:

4-year degree in one of the sciences, engineering, or a related field and 3-6 years of professional experience in energy or environmental issues. Must be an excellent writer with strong interpersonal skills who enjoys working closely with staff and members in a small office.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in a broad range of energy-related issues and is a self-starter, quick learner, tech-savvy, and willing to take on new challenges and pitch in during a crunch. This position reports to the Executive Director.

SALARY:$38,000-$47,000
