Earth Advantage Institute is a nonprofit organization that works with the building industry to implement sustainable building practices. Its mission is to create an immediate, practical, and cost effective path to sustainability and to the reduction of carbon in the built environment. The organization achieves its objectives through an innovative range of programs for industry professionals, including certification of high performance homes, remodels, sustainable communities, and commercial spaces. These programs are supported by an education department, which offers basic and advanced courses on building, marketing, and valuing green homes; and by a technical services team that provides a variety of onsite tests and energy audits.
To drive that mission, EAI is in need of a strategic, dependable, intuitive and entrepreneurial EPS Program Specialist to develop and implement EPS programs across North America.
Position Overview:
The EPS Program Specialist will report directly to the EPS/Remodel Program Manager and is responsible for the company's EPS service delivery of the four state DOE FOA 251 programs which includes contract management with each state energy office, coordination with NASEO project manager, contract management with EAI subcontractors; and monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements. The opportunity exists for the positions portfolio of projects to grow beyond the four state programs.
This position requires strong communications, program development and management expertise to successfully deliver the EPS services to program sponsors.

- Demonstrated people management and effective customer relations skills.
- Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills to effectively interact and negotiate with internal and external customers and business contacts, at all organizational levels.
- Ability to communicate with others in potentially antagonistic situations using appropriate interpersonal methods to reduce tension and maintain professionalism in accordance with corporate standards.
Management:
- Design, recommend and implement short and long term management strategies in conjunction with program manager, executive director, and other program directors.
- Gather, assemble, correlate, analyze, and draw conclusions from building industry and corporate data to effectively implement programs financial success.
- Develop innovative, creative and effective EPS program elements to add value to the existing program offerings.
- Proficient using a PC, thorough understanding of in house financial and sales reporting database systems.
- Coordination of webinars, conference calls, and in person meetings with project partners.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, business, marketing, sustainability, or related field (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in green building, education, or training and development
- Excellent interpersonal communication, research, and writing skills
- Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies
- High motivation and energy level with demonstrated ability to take initiative
- Exceptional attention to detail, follow through, and ability to keep stakeholders informed at all times
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Salesforce experience preferred
- Availability to work occasional weekends or evenings
- Pass pre employment drug screen and submit to background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Please have an interest in and passion for green building, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility. Ideal candidates will have the ability to confidently and comfortably communicate with clients, colleagues and vendors; to understand client needs; to set client expectations; and to provide status and effectively present results.
- Strong communication skills including persuasion and negotiation, group presentation, problem solving, and superior oral and written skills.
- Legal background in contract preparation and negotiation strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the residential construction industry and a thorough understanding of construction techniques, materials, and performance of energy related products as well as environmental and resource efficient products, especially as these pertain to retrofitting of existing homes.
- Experience with responding and preparing responses to RFPs will be advantageous.
- Interest in and passion for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility, sustainability and green building strongly preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the features, advantages, and benefits of the EPS Auditor Platform as offered by Earth Advantage and knowledge of the EPS services delivered by Energy Trust of Oregon, PECI, and CSG.
- Self starter and must be able to work remotely and independently
- Bachelors degree and minimum 4 to 8 years professional experience. Experience should also include a minimum of 3+ years in a project management capacity for an organization of comparable diversity and scope.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Proficiency with project management software, BasecampHQ preferred.
