Troop Transition is a Transition Services Organization (TSO); our mission is to significantly reduce post-military underemployment by training and credentialing service members to industry-defined employment specifications. Our training is offered to active duty servicemen and women who are interested in pursuing civilian career options prior to their end of military service.
In partnership with Central Texas College, our latest program, Troops 2 Energy, is creating a stir aboard military bases. We are training Marines in Solar PV Installation in addition to Wind Energy (entry level technician) over a period of 8 weeks. Subsequently, we assist them in terms of job placement in a burgeoning industry. We actively partner with industry leaders who recognize and reward a veteran's service to country and who actively seek high caliber, entry-level professionals.
Position Overview:
We are currently expanding campuses (bases) and are seeking a FULL TIME, Energy Instructor at our location aboard Marine Corps Base, 29 Palms, CA 92277.
This is a unique opportunity to train America's finest for your industry. Work hours are generally from Noon - 9:00 pm, Monday - Friday (occasional weekend).
Qualifications:
- Willing to relocate to 29 Palms, CA or at a minimum, spend Mon-Fri in 29 Palms
- Formally trained electrician and must have current CA Certified General Electrician's cert., degree in related field a plus
- 3-5 years verifiable commercial and residential solar installation experience or 3-5 years experience in the Wind Industry, O&M/Construction
- Safety experience (OSHA-10 ideal)
- Previous instructing experience favored
- Valid California Driver's license
- Ability to obtain a security clearance in order to work on military base
- Military experience is a plus
