Position Overview: 

GreenShape is seeking an experienced and motivated engineering professional with 5-10 years of experience in energy analysis to support our expanding green building and corporate sustainability consulting practice.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include recommending energy-efficient green building and neighborhood strategies to support our LEED project teams and creating iterative energy models.

You will work on a range of project types including commercial office buildings, schools, multi-unit residential and mixed-use projects, building modernizations, and neighborhood development projects.

Depending on your skills and experience, you may also be responsible for conducting green building/energy audits for LEED EB-OM projects, evaluating building systems and making recommendations for improvements or providing LEED Enhanced Commissioning services.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants for the Energy Engineer position should hold a BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering and have knowledge of building systems, especially mechanical, lighting systems, building envelope and controls.
  • Proficiency in creating iterative energy models for a variety of building types using software such as EQuest, Energy Pro, Carrier HAP is essential.
  • We are looking for a flexible, organized professional to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in a small office environment.
  • Candidates should have the desire and ability to explain green building and energy-efficiency concepts, systems design implications and energy modeling results to engineers and laypersons.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with energy systems design and LEED projects and also be able to evaluate energy systems in existing buildings and make recommendations for potential systems improvements.
  • Experience with providing LEED Enhanced Commissioning services would be an additional plus. CEM, LEED AP and/or PE preferred.
  • Years of Professional Experience Required: 5-10 years
