Competencies/Responsibilities:
The person filling this position is responsible for visiting customers and conducting energy surveys to identify energy saving solutions and leading automation projects to control energy consuming equipment. Understands utilities, equipment and processes within customer facilities such as gas, electricity, water, steam, compressed air, HVAC, chillers, compressors, lighting, etc. Performs energy calculations, creates written reports and recommends more energy efficient solutions based on knowledge of industrial processes. Identifies power and energy management product and engineered system opportunities. Frequently acts as a leading spokesperson on these applications or technologies both inside and outside Rockwell Automation. May participate in development of business team strategic plans. Plans, schedules and leads the execution of energy related projects including energy audits, power quality surveys, and energy automation projects. Will participate and possibly lead in proposal development activities. May identify technologies, equipment and products to be used in standard offerings, new applications and extension of current solution offerings. Must write functional specifications, energy audit reports and customer recommendations - Strong technical-writing skills are a must. Frequently leads requirement definition, solution conceptualization and design effort for complex projects. Leads efforts of up to 10 engineering personnel on complex projects. Leads contractors and engineering partners on project assignments. Coaches and helps develop less-experienced engineers assigned to projects. Leverages and shares specialized application technology knowledge with assigned business team. May lead internal engineering improvement efforts.
