Description

Community Energy Services Corporation CESC is a 501-c-3 nonprofit organization and licensed contractor. CESC manages three primary program areas: (a) Construction services for low-income senior and disabled homeowners, under HUD/CDBG funding; (b) City of Berkeley energy efficiency services, in which we provide energy audits, project management, and technical and design assistance to municipal buildings; and (c) the East Bay Smart Lights Program for energy efficiency services to the commercial, municipal and multi-family residential sectors throughout the region. 

The East Bay Smart Lights Program is a successful community-based energy efficiency program. The Program is designed to provide energy efficiency improvement services to small businesses in participating cities in the East Bay. Under this Program, small businesses receive comprehensive energy audits and rebates for installation of recommended measures, primarily in lighting and refrigeration. The program serves approximately 1,000 businesses per year. 

The Smart Lights Program is funded as part of the East Bay Energy Partnership, a local government partnership with Pacific Gas and Electric Company. 

Responsibilities: 

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring that participating small businesses receive all services offered by the Program and that all installed projects meet Smart Lights quality control standards. 

Primary responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to, the following: 

Energy Auditing:  Document existing conditions of customers' systems; Specify efficient improvements; Prepare audit and energy savings reports for customers; Ensure that audits prepared by subcontractors are complete and accurate 

Project Sales: Meet with Program customers to explain results of audits, project costs, and Program rebates; Gain client sign-off in participating in the Program and in buying the recommended retrofit 

Installation Management and Quality Control: Schedule installations and manage contractors; Perform quality control checks on installed projects 

Job Tracking, Project Coordination, and Database Management: Ensure customers receive all services offered by the Program and that all jobs are properly checked;  Maintain an active job tracking database 

Qualifications: 

Minimum Experience: BA/BS in energy management, engineering, or related field; Minimum of two years professional experience in energy auditing and managing construction contracts; Experience with refrigeration and/or energy efficient lighting applications;  Familiarity with database management 

Personal Skills: Excellent written and oral presentation skills; Highly organized and detailed-oriented; able to handle many projects at once; Bi-lingual in Spanish, Chinese, or South East Asian languages preferred 

Status and Benefits:

$47,000 to $52,000 DOE; Additional performance bonuses based on meeting Program goals; Full-time exempt position; Health and Dental;  Paid holidays, vacation and sick; Friendly, cooperative work environment
