Position Overview: 

The temporary employee will join the Los Angeles Office team in administering energy efficiency grant programs for low income homeowners. These programs provide solar energy systems, attic and crawl space insulation, and tankless water heaters to qualifying homeowners. The position requires strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish, self-motivation, ability to work as a team player, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Reports to Director, Technical Assistance.

The temporary employee will work for 10 hours a week for 12 weeks beginning as soon as September 1, 2010, and will work out of Enterprise Community Partners' Downtown Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities:

  • Marketing the program in target neighborhoods
  • Providing a high level of customer service in communicating with homeowner applicants
  • Processing grant application materials, including, but not limited to: printing, copying and distributing; answering phones regarding program eligibility and requirements; preparing complete project files, and general administrative duties as necessary.
  • Scheduling pre- and post site inspections, scheduling vendors for installations, etc.
  • Tracking work progress and expenses with spreadsheets

Qualifications: 

The ideal candidate is pursuing or has recently completed a bachelor's degree. Candidate has completed course work related to, and demonstrates interest in green building, environmental science, affordable housing and community development, urban planning, or community organizing.  Prior experience in green technology is preferred.

Other key qualifications:

  • Reliably meets deadlines;
  • Well organized and detail oriented;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and web applications;
  • Fluent Spanish speaker
  • Valid driver's license required.
