Position Overview
The
Energy Efficiency Engineer is responsible for on-site energy audits of existing
commercial and institutional buildings with a focus on energy saving
opportunities from building envelope and mechanical insulation improvements.
Energy Efficiency Engineers create strong
relationships with our client's engineers, project developers and project
managers through regular communication and excellent report writing.
The most important goal of the Energy
Efficiency Engineer is to create a strong foundation for a successful
installation project for our in-house installation teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve your technical
understanding of commercial/ institutional energy efficiency, building
construction, building envelope components and mechanical insulation
everyday - Communicate effectively with our clients'
project development engineers related to energy audits and project
reporting deliverables, in order to strengthen long-term business
partnerships - Lead energy audits of commercial and
institutional buildings; review architectural drawings to confirm existing
building conditions when necessary - Design the project scope of work, calculate
energy savings and analyze project costs - Write Investment Grade Findings and
Recommendations Reports for clients and Internal Install Reports for our
in-house installation teams - Review energy saving scope of work
recommendations with B|E's in-house project managers and installers to
ensure a smooth transition to installation work - Deliver Investment Grade Audit Reports to the
prime contractor; lead web-based or in-person proposal review meetings
Qualifications
- An intense commitment to teamwork with your B|E
Retrofit colleagues and to delivering the highest quality service possible
to our external business partners - Demonstrated success in leading and working as
part of a team - A desire and ability to actively problem-solve
and to get better everyday - Capable of handling physical demands of energy
audits in large buildings, including carrying a ladder, walking many miles
per day and being comfortable at heights and in confined spaces - Engineering, building science, construction
management or contracting background - Experience in commercial or residential
weatherization or insulation - 4-year bachelor's degree
- At least 3-years of full-time work experience
Compensation & Incentives: Competitive
base salary and health benefits are offered (this is not a commission pay-based
sales job). All team members are eligible
for incentive pay and quick promotion based on performance.
