Position Overview  

Elysian Energy, LLC is accepting applications for an Energy Efficiency Door-to-door sales position to make an impact right here in Maryland this fall! We are hiring independent contractors to help homeowners in Maryland learn about the EmPOWER Maryland programs.

The EmPOWER Maryland programs are no or low-cost measures that homeowners can take to make their home more comfortable and more sustainable. The programs help people lower their bills, improve the comfort of their home, and reduce their environmental impact.

Your role will be to educate homeowners about measures they can take to reduce their energy consumption, and you'll be able to make improvements right away! The job is based out of our Silver Spring office with service areas located primarily in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties.

Note: Currently this position is a part-time, temporary with unique work hours.  

Responsibilities

• Travel to different neighborhoods and suburbs going door-to-door with the goal of getting homeowners to sign up for the EmPOWER Maryland programs, including the Energy Wise Reward and other programs.

• Explain the EmPOWER Maryland program to homeowners and let them know what services are available to them.

• Interpret and communicate with homeowners in a clear and accessible manner.

• Install and explain the benefits of various energy saving products such as CFLs, faucet aerators, and low-flow shower heads.

• Work an assigned territory, often up to 30-50 houses or locations per day.

• Work with office staff to schedule appointments you set each day. 

Qualifications 

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience: 

• Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable access to an insured vehicle.

• Must be able to pass background and reference checks.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to absorb, process, utilize and communicate technical concepts.

• Ideal candidate is energetic and personable with a demonstrated passion for contributing to the sustainability movement.
