GoodCents develops and manages utility-sponsored mass-market demand response and energy efficiency programs for residential and small business customers. We offer a full range of professional program services, including program design, marketing, customer recruitment, implementation, program evaluation, and long-term customer care - to create a total turnkey business solution tailored to your specifications.

Position Overview:

The Specialist will perform quality control checks on performed work to ensure that work was performed to the standards that deliver the energy savings as reported to the sponsoring electric utility. The electric utility is offering rebates to residential customers for 3 program (a) Residential HVAC New Installation, (b) Residential  HVAC Tune-Ups, and (c) Attic and Duct Seal and Insulate Program. 

Responsibilities:

Specific tasks include:

  • Check that residential HVAC installations are installed as recorded on the rebate form.
  • Check that residential HVAC Tune-ups were performed as recorded on the rebate form.
  • Re-perform the residential HVAC Tune-Up, comparing diagnostics with the original tune-up diagnostics.
  • Check that residential Attic and Duct Seal and Insulate work was performed as recorded on the rebate form.
  • Support presentations at local conferences, distributor/contractor events, and other networking events
  • Support educating subcontractors on the HVAC programs, home shell programs, energy efficiency measures, benefits of the Programs

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5 Years or greater experience in residential HVAC industry and Insulation/Sealing
  • Industry credentials ACCA/NATE
  • BPI Certification
  • Proven ability to develop and successfully implement daily and weekly work plans in order to achieve or exceed program goals.
  • Must be able to work respectfully and cooperatively with co-workers, and people of all racial, ethnic, and income backgrounds in a positive and non-judgmental manner.
  • A high level of self-motivation and an ability to work independently toward objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Availability and willingness to work additional hours in order to meet each month's program production goals. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends; local travel and periodic out-of-town travel are required
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • LEED Certified, or Building Science/Technical Energy Conservation training
  • CEM, or an understanding of energy efficient construction and green building, including diagnostic testing
  • Previous experience in residential energy conservation program
  • Ability to speak and write basic Spanish.
  • A desire for new knowledge and an innate curiosity about "how things work," and new techniques for conserving energy.
  • An active personal commitment to materials reuse & recycling, and environmentally sustainable, ecological ways of living.

Physical Requirements:

Performing an inspection involves extensive navigation in and around the house and attic as well as climbing ladders.  Therefore, a TRM must possess some physical dexterity, endurance, and balance to safely and effectively accomplish this work.

  • Ability to move around attics, crawl spaces
  • Ability carry 25-35 pounds
  • Ability to move up and down ladders sometimes to heights of 25 feet
  • Ability to stand and conduct presentations up to 2-hours long

Compensation: Commensurate with educational level, experience, and qualifications (this position is exempt from overtime compensation); Company Vehicle; Healthcare coverage and disability insurance is provided; Paid vacation and sick time
