A leading Northern NJ Energy Efficiency and Sustainability firm has an immediate full-time career opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual as an Home Energy Auditor.
BrightHome Energy Solutions is the leading home energy-retrofitting company in the greater New York and New Jersey area. Our consultants are trained in building sciences and certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI). We are an approved NYSERDA contractor and a founding member of Efficiency First. Our goal is to help homeowners be more comfortable, save money and reduce harm to the environment.
Position Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented individual to work in a growing field focused on making America more energy efficient. A dynamic and successful communicator would need the technical skills to provide audit services, along with the communications skills to translate those benefits to homeowners.
Responsibilities:
- Performing an Energy Audit to Building Performance Institute standards within the Home Performance with Energy Star Program
- Analyzing homes and developing a plan to address health and safety items, improve efficiency of thermal envelope, analyze heating/cooling systems for optimal performance.
- Providing detailed reports on existing home conditions, along with recommended improvement measures.
- Developing a detailed work scope with Efficiency Solutions Team.
- Detailed written and verbal follow up with customers to gain commitment, and throughout the improvement process.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills.
- Valid NJ Driver's license.
- Passion for positively impacting the environment.
- Proficiency with a blower door, infrared camera, combustion safety testing equipment, etc.
- Background and experience with residential construction and/or HVAC design.
- Knowledge of energy efficient building materials and mechanical equipment.
- BPI or RESNET certification is highly desirable.
