Wagman Construction, Inc., a commercial and industrial building contractor located in the York, PA area, has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced individual in the HVAC field/industry to fill the newly created position of Energy Auditor.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, goal-oriented individual, who can work well in a close knit team environment. The successful candidate's primary objective will be to coordinate the preparation of engineering studies and investigations and provide technical written reports as needed and see that any outstanding items are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice.
Responsibilities:
- Perform and/or supervise Level I and Level II energy audits of commercial and institutional facilities with particular focus on HVAC equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, chilled and hot water loops, pumps, air handlers and variable speed drives
- Identify and develop energy conservation opportunities, operational measures, and capital upgrades relating to energy management and efficiency
- Utilize energy simulation software in order to quantify and prioritize potential energy savings
- Perform payback analysis on capital upgrades
- Conduct infrared imaging inspections, develop reports and make recommendations for possible mitigation
- Facilitate facility energy improvement recommendations
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree - BSME is preferred
- 3-5 years of engineering experience
- 1-2 years experience in energy management, conservation or facility energy auditing
- Good knowledge of building systems - HVAC of primary importance
- Experience with energy simulation software applications such as DOE-2
- CEM, CEA, LEED or other recognized energy efficiency certifications a plus
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
