Position Overview:

Karbone's award winning brokerage desk is expanding its services and environmental markets coverage, recently adding new commodities to its roster of domestic and international products. The team is looking to add highly motivated junior brokers with unique entrepreneurial characteristics.

Candidates should possess a strong interest in the alternative energy sector with relevant background education. Candidates will support the team in market research, help source new trading clients while nurturing relationships with existing clients, and actively take part in the daily trading business. The candidate will also to participate in company's weekly team training covering industry knowledge as well as deal execution. 

Responsibilities:

  • Structure and execute bilateral contracts for all classes of energy and environmental commodities around North America: RECs, SRECs, Carbon Credits, Emissions Permits, RINs
  • Spot and term power, fuels, and related product contracts
  • Establish and manage relationships with various market participants
  • Maintain knowledge of current market developments, regulations, legislation, and industry trends
  • Participate in industry events, grow media exposure 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years brokerage or other sales experience, ideally in related markets
  • Deep understanding of energy and environmental markets
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations
  • Existing knowledge of and relationships with market participants
  • Relevant undergraduate and/or graduate degree
  • Track record of successful teamwork, entrepreneurship, and innovation
