Operating as a design consultant and “boots on the ground” interim and continuous inspection agent, PEG leads the way in verification of effective planning and real-world application of all aspects of sustainable construction. PEG performs at every level of contracting from commercial structures to residential dwellings to charitable endeavors.

Position Overview

PEG, LLC is seeking candidates for the position of Energy Analyst. This role will work from Fairfax, VA. Training will be provided and is required for this position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as Energy Analyst for Local, Regional, and National Energy Programs/Utilities
  • Communicate any auditing areas to Management and provide options for resolution
  • Provide audited data to Program Agency
  • Coordinate and review with Energy Analyst team inspection submissions for accuracy
  • Modify critical paths based on prevailing conditions
  • Develop workarounds to overcome obstacles in the critical path
  • Integrate, review, and validate critical relationships with primary parties
  • Receive and understand client constraints
  • Strong knowledge in the use of energy rated software – Ekotrope & RemRate
  • Organize and control all data through Excel and Share-Point
  • Interface with Operations, Owners, and Subcontractors to discuss impact of work and resolution of problems.
  • Extensive understanding of geometry and math
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical instructions
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills

Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience with construction, energy efficiency building codes, and building science is not required but is a PLUS
  • Experience with energy modeling software such as Ekotrope, REMrate, Google Sketchup is not required but is preferred
  • Familiarity with building science concepts such as thermal enclosure, building envelope leakage testing, and duct leakage testing
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other disciplines or groups
  • Must have excellent verbal/written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent reporting skills, attention to detail, deadline-oriented, and time management skills
  • Must have strong software experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Education:

  • B.S. in Energy, Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience including house framing, home mechanical systems, blueprints, and/or general carpentry
  • Training will be provided and is required for this position
