Description

The U.S. Green Building Council has an unpaid internship opportunity to assist the Curriculum Development Team with a variety of tasks associated with the development, improvement, and delivery of new and existing education products. The intern will be able to build on his/her experience in the curriculum development process, including instructional design and adult learning techniques; will interact with LEED project team representatives; and will learn about LEED through various curriculum development and case study oriented work. The intern must be available to work in USGBC's Washington, D.C. office.

Responsibilities:

Internship Details Include

  • Outline new blended course curriculum from existing resources and materials
  • Prepare existing in-person workshop slides to be recorded for repurposing for online course formats
  • Outline curriculum to support USGBC publications
  • Support creation of Knowledge Exchange and expanded use of multimedia platforms for delivery of education programs
  • Update existing course materials for newer version of LEED rating system
  • Assist with project-, case-based material development
  • Assist with conversion of online course material to new platforms
  • Support transition to new evaluation tools and analysis process
  • Support international adaptation of curriculum or other licensee customization
  • Participate in relevant education program(s), provide feedback, and, as relevant, develop solutions to support USGBC's process for continually improving its curriculum
  • Other tasks, as assigned

Qualifications:

Education and Training Requirements/Preferences:

  • University student (undergraduate Senior or Graduate student) pursuing a degree in the field of education, instructional systems design, eLearning, or instructional technology

Experience Requirements:

  • At least 1 year working in education, ISD, eLearning, and/or adult learning principles

Other Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Interest in green building
  • Detail-oriented
  • Able to handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with InDesign, Camtasia, Moodle, and/or WebEx preferred
  • Commitment to USGBC's mission
