Position Overview:
The Illinois Solar Energy Association is currently seeking education interns in the Chicago area. Applicants should have an interest in renewable energy, sustainability, and education.
This internship will focus upon assisting ISEA with its educational program and performing administrative tasks. The primary responsibility of the intern will be to provide assistance to instructors at education seminars throughout the year.
ISEA internships normally run for 1 semester, or a 4 month term. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in ISEA educational seminars for free and will gain valuable knowledge and training in renewable energy. Interns will also have the ability to network with a variety of solar business owners and ISEA’s membership base at seminars and other events.
ISEA educational seminars generally run for 3 hours on Saturday mornings throughout the greater Chicago area, but also occasionally on weekday evenings. All materials necessary for course delivery will be provided by ISEA.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in at least 2 educational seminars a month
- Pre-seminar set-up, administer check-in, and greet attendees at the venue ½ hour prior to seminar start time
- Manage course teaching materials, including demo equipment, hand-outs, and educational magazines
- Communicate with the education coordinator and course instructors on a regular basis for updates and instructions on ISEA course offerings
- Contribute ideas for improving existing course material and developing new courses
- Identify opportunities for strategic relationships and potential venues for seminars
