The U.S. Green Building Council, a Washington, DC-based national nonprofit organization of over 15,000 corporate and organizational members from every sector of the building industry united to transform the building marketplace to sustainability, is currently seeking an enthusiastic professional to join the Education and Research Department.

Position Overview:

The Education Development Coordinator will assist the Distance Learning Manager with the development and execution of USGBC education programs in formats including podcasts, videos, and distance learning programs. Duties include managing the marketing and promotion of these programs, working closely with subject matter experts both internal and external, and various USGBC departments. In addition, this individual will work on team projects as needed to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the Distance Learning Manager with the development of webinars on a variety of audiences and formats, duties to include:
    • Schedule calls, meetings and rehearsals with subject matter experts as needed
    • Gather necessary materials from presenters (photo, bio, slides)
    • Organize content in preparation for submittal to Marketing dept. for design
    • Edit copy material for inclusion in e-blasts and web postings
    • Compile resource information to support webinars and Green Bytes
    • Update Staff with changes to programs
    • If appropriate, publicize events to USGBC staff for pre-registration with webinar vendor
    • Support live webinar events (in admin studio) as needed
    • Collect, record and analyze attendee numbers and demographics
  • Coordinate and monitor web updates including USGBC.org, Greenbuild 365 website, and faculty extranet (working with Faculty Manager) if applicable
  • Monitor program evaluations to identify areas for continuous program improvements
  • Coordinate with the team on submissions of USGBC webinars for continuing education credits with all appropriate organizations.
  • Liaise with USGBC departments including Communications, Community, and LEED as needed
  • Liaise with customer service staff to keep information current.

  • Establish the online education programs as the premier programs in the marketplace

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience required
  • Project management experience required
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Familiarity with web preferable
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work well on a team with a diverse array of individuals and volunteers
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills (MS Office)
  • Commitment to USGBC Mission
