From organic wine to eco-friendly fashion, the Daily Tips provide level-headed advice for people who want to do the right thing without giving up creature comforts. The mission is to create a sustainable economy by connecting enlightened companies with Ideal Bite's subscribers who want to vote with their dollars by making small changes that add up. The secret sauce is a spoonful of "incremental environmentalism" with a keeping-it-real attitude. Ideal Bite is a sassier shade of green.
Ideal Bite is seeking two Editorial Interns to assist with editorial in the San Francisco office. The Ideal Bite Editorial Interns will work with an experienced team of green editors to build online editorial plans to improve the Ideal Bite free daily tip.
The Ideal Bite Editorial intern will gain real world experience and contacts. Tasks include blog monitoring, editorial research, answering reader mail, scouting products and organizing our product library (the samples and materials that get sent to Ideal Bite for review). We need someone who will be able to come into the San Francisco office at least once per week. This internship is unpaid but structured to give you maximum exposure to online and green editorial strategy, and our goal is to provide you with solid experience and help you to find paid work for your talents.
Minimum Qualifications and Expectations:
* Minimum commitment of 10-15 hours per week for 3 months
* Independent working style requiring minimal supervision
* Proficiency in computers, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and internet research
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Enjoy working with the public
* Excellent writing and communication skills
* Interest and knowledge of environmental issues and socially responsible business is a plus
