Description

Be a part of the Basel Action Network, helping stem the environmental impacts of global trade in electronic waste.

Responsibilities:

  • Help build e-Stewards certification programs: Develop toolkits; research on competing programs; support the marketing; and direct outreach efforts.
  • Organize Corporate Responsibility Campaign: Research on manufacturers and retailers in order to promote responsible e-cycling.
  • Organize broad NGO and public support for e-Stewards program.
  • Public Policy Advocacy: Communicate to influencers. Coordinate with other NGO's or industry participants to put pressure on legislators.

  • Highly self motivated
  • Ability to work well in a team

Required:

  • Experience speaking publicly or to media
  • A minimum of 2 years working in a non-profit organization in a research and/or advocacy role, or, alternatively as an investigative journalist

Highly desirable qualifications:

  • A total of 7 years of working experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Detailed knowledge of environmental issues and in particular electronic waste
  • Language skills in a United Nations official language other than English
