Diversity Outreach Coordinator

EnerACT is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable energy (energy conservation, efficiency and renewable energy) in the Toronto area.

Duties:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual  to support our Program Manager in developing and implementing an outreach program for 6 of the Toronto area's largest ethnic communities. 

The Diversity Component of our Smart Steps, Simple Solutions program attempts to overcome the traditional linguistic and cultural barriers that educators face by using the knowledge and experience that exists within each community. Through printed materials, media interaction and workshops, Smart Steps, Simple Solutions brings a positive message of lower energy bills, more comfortable homes and a more environmentally sensitive lifestyle to ethnic communities.

Duties:

• manage and motivate approximately 40 volunteers 
• recruit new volunteers to the program 
• create a volunteer appreciation plan for the program and help implement it 
• assist with outreach to ethnic media outlets 
• help organize focus sessions and volunteer training sessions 
• other tasks as may be required 
• time commitment: 10 hours per month for a minimum of 1 year 
• the position is part time

Qualifications:
If you are a good multi-tasker, have a talent for managing people (volunteers), like interacting with people of many different backgrounds (ethnicity, gender, age, sexuality, etc) and would like to contribute to positive changes in our environment, then you may be the one for us.
