gThrive is a funded startup based in the heart of Silicon
Valley led by agriculture and technology experts.
Position Overview
gThrive seeks a person comfortable with evangelizing new
technologies and acquiring our first customers. The successful candidate won’t
be evangelizing a new product category - but rather a new solution into an
existing product category with a clear, powerful value proposition.
This position provides the successful candidate with the
unique opportunity to create a sales organization from the ground up. This
person will help guide the building of the gThrive sales organization. They will
be supported by an effective marketing organization, a proven product suite,
and strong customer support.
We like candiates from the West Coast, but can hire from anywhere in the country! This position will report to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement strategies for reaching new
customer sales growth goals. Establish a positive, solution-centric sales
culture - Provide guidance to marketing and management
as to potential market segments to focus on. Provide advice on communication to
those target markets that Marketing will execute upon - Define and meet goals established for new
business development - Follow up on leads generated by Marketing.
Assess lead viability as a future customer. Close customers for pilots, trials
and sales. Manage and report on the gThrive pipeline. Utilize an CRM system to
track activities and manage sales opportunities - Develop strategic business partnerships and
foster those partnerships into solution sales. Participate in in organizations
and conference, and attending trade shows and events to help create visibility
for gThrive and its solutions - Support product launches
- Provide product direction including feature
requests to Engineering in the development of future products - Manage and perform administrative duties as
necessary
Qualifications
- 5-7
years of direct sales and business development experience - High-energy
self-starter as well as collaborative team player - Experienced
in missionary selling of new product into established product categories and
eager to evangelize new technology to the US farming community - Thorough
understanding of consultative sales cycle - High-energy
self-starter as well as collaborative team player - Communication
skills appropriate to speak to a range of customers, at different levels, about
the business value of technology - Demonstrated
ability to close business - Demonstrated
ability to focus and make tradeoffs - Passion
for making American farmers prosperous - Strong
business ethics - Relevant
experience in technology sales to small and medium businesses operating in
competitive, margin-sensitive businesses - Demonstrated
ability to provide meaningful product input, lead sales, and manage business
development - Comfortable
and enthused to work in an entrepreneurial environment - Values and uses CRM tools. Ability to
effectively monitor sales performance versus plan and communicate accordingly - Must be able to travel on a regular basis (25-50%),
may include nights and weekends as part of travel - BA, BS required. MS preferred
