Soliant Energy is an award-winning solar concentrator company whose mission is to deliver commercial customers the highest economic return on their solar investment.

Our rooftop concentrator modules aim to be the market's most efficient, and will deliver the highest total energy yield when integrated into complete rooftop systems. Plug compatible with conventional system racks and inverters, our modules leverage high efficiency solar cells and built-in 2-axis tracking to maximize energy performance. This increased performance, along with the module's high power output and optimized form factor, result in lower system costs, high energy density and corresponding high Return On Investment (ROI).

Position Overview: 

We are seeking an experienced solar product management professional to understand customer and market requirements, as well as help qualify our channels and manage the product's introduction into the market.  This position will have P&L responsibility, and will be responsible for developing business cases and managing the traditional 4 P's:  product, pricing, placement and promotion.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with potential customers to understand market requirements for products.  Formalize these requirements into a Market Requirements Specification (MRS), and manage the creation and review process of the MRS.  MRS should include the expected features and benefits to be achieved with the product.
  • Create Customer Value Propositions (CVPs) for products based on detailed market analysis and research.  CVPs should be based on formal market research, where necessary, as well as detailed customer interviews. 
  • Conduct market analyses to understand appropriate market segments to attack.  Analyses should include, but are not limited to:  appropriate geographies, market share expectations, and sales forecasts.
  • Create business cases for product including cost targets, profit margin targets, competitive analyses (both modules and systems), sales forecasts, and expected product road maps.
  • Analyze market pricing for modules and silicon and develop pricing recommendations.
  • Create product launch plans which include: promotion, advertising, public relations, training, and channel sales support programs and other activities, as needed.
  • Survey existing sales channels and develop criteria for evaluation; make sales channel recommendations to sales group.
  • Work with engineering to ensure that all market requirements are understood and delivered by the product. 

Qualifications:

  • BS in engineering preferred but not required; Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field required;
  • MBA preferred but not required;
  • Experience with consumer or capital equipment product marketing highly desired
  • 2+ years experience as a solar product manager or equivalent required;
  • 8-10 years total experience required;
  • Experience managing at least 1 product from concept to market required;
  • P&L experience required;
  • Hands on experience in a dynamic environment with aggressive schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team
  • Be creative, self motivated, and resourceful
  • Travel (extended at times) required
