The Office of Sustainability at the University of Florida is currently seeking a Director. The Office of Sustainability is a division of the Vice President for Business Affairs.
Responsibilities:
The Director is responsible for the overall management of the Office of Sustainability including the supervision of its staff, the development of reports, programs, and policies related to operational sustainability for university facilities and infrastructure; funding initiatives; and the development and execution of an outreach program and strategic communication plan. The Director will work in close conjunction with Academic Affairs, which is responsible for the development of programs and policies relating to sustainability in teaching and research on campus, as well as the Joint Sustainability Committee.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 6 years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and 8 years of appropriate experience. For some positions assigned to this class, special qualifications may be added to the minimum, such as professional registration or certification, or medical credentials.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience in administration and staff supervision. Experience in fundraising and grant writing. Extensive knowledge for environmental management practices. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including experience in report writing and public speaking.
