~ Mercy Investment Services is an asset management program for the collective investment and professional management of the endowment, operating, and other funds of the Sisters of Mercy and the eligible sponsored and co-sponsored ministries that choose to participate, all of which are tax-exempt organizations engaged in religious and charitable activities. ~
The idea behind the program is that, by combining their assets, participants may obtain lower costs for the investment of their funds and access to better performing investment managers than each would otherwise have.
Mercy Investment Services is a nonprofit public benefit corporation, 501c3 organization that is listed in The Official Catholic Directory. Mercy Investment Services was established to provide socially responsible investment advisory and money management services so as to enhance the financial resources of program participants.
Position Overview
Mercy Investment Services is actively seeking a full-time Director of Shareholder Advocacy to join our social responsibility department as a key member of our shareholder advocacy team.
This position is responsible for the environmental issue areas in our shareholder advocacy program, with responsibility for recommending and implementing Mercy Investment Services’ approved shareholder advocacy plan, which addresses significant water access and sustainability, climate change and environmental justice concerns.
This position may be based in St. Louis, Missouri, or in another agreed-upon location.
Responsibilities
Major responsiblities include:
- Develop an annual shareholder advocacy plan, including advocacy priorities and annual advocacy goals, concerns to be addressed and outcomes/impacts to be achieved through engagement with companies; and
- Implement the annual shareholder advocacy plans through the filing of shareholder resolutions, including as primary and/or co-filer where appropriate, leading and/or participating in dialogues, and other forms of corporate engagement, in collaboration with the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility, Ceres and other corporate responsibility advocacy groups.
