Position Overview

Radian Generation is seeking a full-time Solar Performance Engineer to join our Technical Asset Management team supporting a growing portfolio of solar energy projects.

We’re searching for a professional that has a solid track record of creating long-term value in past endeavors. First and foremost, we’re looking for a person who understands the challenges of operating renewable energy assets and can assist customers in developing strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of those power plants. We’re looking for someone who is customer-obsessed and ready to solve the changing needs of our clients.

Responsibilities

The candidate will support fulfillment of asset management contracts. Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts for projects including ticket creation and dispatch
  • Actively monitor performance, weather, and security data from operating plants
  • Review performance modeling results and compare with actuals
  • Maintain a formalized database tracking physical characteristics of the asset, contracts and contractual obligations, and system performance
  • Manage spare parts inventories for portfolio
  • Perform technical optimization analyses of project portfolio

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    • Strong skills within Microsoft environment: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Visio, Projec
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Experience with PVsyst modeling and design review
    • Passion to enter a growth-stage enterprise
    • Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system design and construction
    • Experience with solar SCADA/DAS systems and remote communications
    • Experience with data reporting and presentation
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
    • Willingness to travel

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years of solar industry experience
  • BS/MS Engineering with knowledge and interest in the renewable power industry
  • Experience negotiating and overseeing O&M and EPC contracts
  • Experience as a database administrator
