Zep Inc. (NYSE: ZEP), with annual sales approaching $600 million and 2,500 employees world-wide, is seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Director of Marketing: Green with our Zep Enterprise Shared Services business unit.

Position Overview:
The Director of Marketing: Green is responsible for developing and delivering a customer-focused environmental program strategy for Zep Inc. This includes business development, marketing strategy and sales strategy for products and programs, ultimately customized to the individual market segments across the Zep Inc enterprise.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for building and sustaining Zep Inc's environmental leadership as well as ultimately developing new business growth opportunities across the Zep Inc enterprise. Specific responsibilities are as follows:
1. Lead ongoing program development of the Zep Inc green program.
- Manage the brand strategy for the Zep Inc green chemical and products portfolio.
- Create a sustainable vision for Green within the Zep Inc business enterprise focused on customers by segment. This vision or plan is modified as the market adapts to green practices, programs and product needs.
- Lead a cross functional team in the creation and launch of a comprehensive training program to educate the organization on green programs, practices and policy.
- Lead the creation and launch of a comprehensive Green Cleaning program that trains our sales associates and customers on the capability Zep Inc. can deliver to a customer in this area.
- Lead and develop a longer term project to deliver a program aligned to assist customers that desire to meet the requirements of "LEED Certification".
- Assess and communicate the business need for the ongoing development of both GreenLink®and third party eco-labeled (Green Seal, DfE, Environmental Choice) products as well as for environmentally preferable products.
2. Develop the marketing strategy for Zep Inc.
- Develop and launch segment specific go-to-market strategies for the I&I customer segments of Industrial / Manufacturing, Food Processing, Vehicle Wash, Contract Services (BSC), Education, Government, Healthcare, Retail and Hospitality segments.
- Coordinate and support the Zep Retail business with the on-going development of the appropriate green strategy needed for the retail space.
- In conjunction with the Segment Marketing Lead for each customer segment, assist in the development of the business propositions for each segment.
- Coordinate with the organization a view of the product life cycle analysis customers seek from leading manufactures in the industries we serve.
- Develop a strategy for the European business.
- Foster relationships and alliances with key market influencers, e.g. USGBC, Green Seal, Go-Green, The Ashkin Group, Green Seal, EcoLogo, etc.
3. Develop the sales strategy for Zep Inc.
- Train sales team on how to position and sell the green program.
- Develop "Green" training programs covering industry leading green influencers, i.e. LEED, Green Seal, Environmental Choice, Design for the Environment, GreenBiz, etc, and green program selling strategy.
- With sales, leverage corporate resources and expertise to close strategic customers, e.g. marketing, Customer Technical Support, product development, R&D, etc
- Evaluate and participate in ‘key' tradeshows and other events that will drive market exposure and new business opportunity.
Qualifications:
- 8 years in a sales, product marketing, technical services or product management role.
- Substantial experience in the away-from-home or B2B environment with particular focus and results with end using customers.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills are required, including proven customer-facing experience.
- Comfortable and skillful at public speaking to small, medium and large internal and external groups.
- Having earned the status as a LEED Accredited Professional from the U. S. Green Building Council a plus.
- A comprehensive understanding of Green Cleaning from the end using customer's point of view is a must.
- Bachelors' degree in Marketing preferred.
