Blu Homes, a modern green homes company, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Marketing and Communications. Blu is the leading designer and manufacturer of beautiful and ecologically-friendly modern prefab homes, and offers a broad product line of homes and small accessory buildings available across the US and North America.

Position Overview:

The candidate will work directly with the VP of Sales and Marketing and Blu's management team in developing the strategy and implementation of Blu's communications and marketing plan. The job will include developing and managing a comprehensive marketing plan including the brand strategy, website, physical marketing collateral, sales materials development, print advertising, marketing events, PR/communications strategy, online marketing strategy, etc., depending on experience. 

Candidates should be sharp, mature, down to earth, fun, good communicators, high energy, have a ‘sense of urgency',  excitement and understanding of startup culture.  Position requires experience or ability to execute management level strategy, while also wearing ‘a lot of hats' in order to get the job done.  Applicants with an interest or understanding of growing a startup company, and/or experience with high tech companies, are preferred.

Qualifications:

Skills:

  • ability to manage multiple sets of marketing initiatives, including communications, editorial, website, online advertising, branding, collateral, local sales marketing plans;
  • great writing skills, ability to meticulously edit print marketing documents;
  • excellent communications skills with both clients and external sales people, as well as internally with Design team in generating materials;
  • ability to synthesize information from clients and sales people on Blu values, questions, issues, etc., and use those to improve marketing materials and messaging;
  • experience and skill in direct-to-consumer marketing is preferred;
  • analytical and organized with a pragmatic approach;
  • independent work ethic and strong networking skills.

Experience:

  • 4-10+ years experience preferred in fields like marketing, communications, market development / strategy in the consumer goods, electronics, or similar direct to consumer fields is preferred.
  • minimum bachelor's degree;

Compensation:  salary based on experience, plus stock options, and benefits package.
