Our client seeks an experienced business savvy fundraising professional to work with a progressive environmental organization leading the efforts in offsetting climate change.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Major Gifts will work with the Executive Director on developing and maintaining professional relationships with current and potential donors and partners. S/he is responsible for maximizing donor potential as well as strengthening and expanding the overall funding base, cultivating and soliciting funds from individual donors and corporations.
As part of the organization's senior management team, the Director of Major Gifts works in collaboration with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other senior staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required.
* 7+ years of professional fundraising/business development experience with a proven track record in corporate and individual major gifts. Must have significant experience asking for and receiving six and seven figure gifts from individuals and corporations.
* Solid verbal and written communication skills are a must.
* Highly motivated self-starter, with ability to set strategic priorities, meet stringent deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexible, business savvy, energetic and works effectively as a team player, team builder, and liaison with external parties.
* Interest in environmental conservation and understanding and appreciation for the important role of the organization in affecting policy change and educating the public.
Salary: $100K - $110K
