Description
Save The Bay, in Providence, RI, is one of Southern New England's largest, most effective environmental organizations. With more than 20,000 members, a professional staff of 30, and an annual budget of $2.5M, STB works to protect, restore and educate about Narragansett Bay, the region's premier environmental, economic and recreational resource.
The Senior Director for Financial Resources and Planning will ensure that Save The Bay's programming is supported with sound fundraising strategies, effective communications and useful financial information.
Planning for both short and long term revenue growth that includes all current and potential sources of revenue is a primary responsibility. Especially important is leading an integrated program and budget development process that emphasizes innovation, strengthens Save The Bay's effectiveness and ensures Save The Bay's long term financial health.
Reports to: Executive Director
Duties:
- Develop and manage the implementation of an effective and user-friendly annual and long-range planning process, and lead staff in the development of annual and multi-year budgets that are created through an effective program/budget development process.
- Manage the Director of Development in the creation and implementation of a long-term revenue growth plan that includes all current and potential sources of revenue, while ensuring that all revenue-generating activities devote best efforts toward meeting objectives.
- Manage the Director of Finance in the implementation of an effective financial management program.
- Manage the Director of Communications in the implementation of an effective internal and external communication plan.
Qualifications:
- Ability to align program with mission.
- Experience in budget planning, financial management and revenue development. Ability to work effectively with management team to ensure understanding of financial & budgetary responsibility.
- Motivating management team, program staff and external partners and supporters to accomplish program goals.
- Outstanding listening and synthesizing skills, adaptability and flexibility.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic and annual planning.
- Experience with board guidance and support.
- Use of internet for program and fundraising purposes.
- Experience in branding and marketing strategies.
- Committed to and enthusiastic about Save The Bay's mission.
