Description
Earth Day Network is seeking a Director of Education Programs to run an expanding sustainability education program, with focus on interdisciplinary environmental education, including civic action, activity-based learning and key issues of environmental importance.
The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing the organization's sustainability education programs for K-12 teachers in the United States, expanding the program to a growing network of international educators, fundraising, maintaining and cultivating strategic partnerships with organizations, institutions and individuals.
The Director of Education Programs will report directly to the President. Salary commensurate with experience (40-50k/ year). Persons of diverse backgrounds strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree in related field, advanced degree or accreditation preferred, with at least five years of experience in related roles of increasing responsibility. Background in teaching, curriculum development and/or teacher-training experience helpful. Excellent program management, budgeting & financial management skills; strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills a necessity. Foreign languages a plus.
Fundraising and program development experience essential. Strong computer skills required. There is some travel associated with this position.
