Job Purpose Summary:

The Director of Donations Architecture will oversee all activities related to material donations including site selection, solicitation, handling, logistics, and motivational marketing management of individual donation sites and events. The position will also be responsible for donor customer service all while promoting the Goodwill brand. The Director will coordinate with retail operations to acquire the types of material donations necessary to meet customer demands and drive sales. The Director is also responsible for developing and implementing marketing campaigns for retail stores in conjunction with agency wide Branding efforts.

Essential Job Functions:

" Develop comprehensive donations strategy for all activities surrounding site selection, site opening and operations. This strategy will include marketing for solicitation, and overall delivery of donations from residents, businesses, governments and communities within our three county territory. This includes donation sites, stores, drives, events, home pickup and any other method of acquiring donated product. 
- All Marketing efforts will be integrated into the overall look and feel of the Agency's branding strategy.
- Develop material handling methods for donation sites which preserve donation value, maximize security and allow for low cost processing while developing innovative customer service protocols. 
- Focus 'Donations" to be Customer Service oriented while being operationally efficient.
- Coordinate donation acquisition activities and efficiency improvements with Operations and the Transportation department.
- Develop strategic relationships with communities and businesses for donation solicitation and the furthering of the Agency's mission and brand.
- Source and negotiate new donation site locations and agreements, launch new sites according to plan and implement promotional activities to drive donors to new sites.
- In conjunction with Retail Operations, develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for driving sales through marketing and promotion to meet annual revenue goals. 
- Effectively manage personnel, fiscal and logistical resources based on mission requirements.
- Responsible for P&L budgeting and the adherence to departmental budget. 
- Prepare and maintain all necessary reports and records in conjunction with daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with all governmental policies, CARF standards, and safety and security regulations.
- Work with HR and Training department to optimize staffing levels and the training and development opportunities of Goodwill staff and participants.
- Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to the fulfillment of the agencies triple bottom line. 
- Adhere to all safety practices. Reports any hazardous conditions to security.
- Facilitate and deliver employee performance evaluations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: 

- Working knowledge of Retail marketing approaches and techniques designed to motivate communities, individuals and businesses to both donate and shop in a non-profit thrift store environment.
- Working knowledge of successful training techniques that will develop and maintain a high standard for customer service. 
- Operations and logistics expertise to direct all activities associated with acquiring and processing a variety of soft and hard lines donations.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative approaches to motivate employees who are the agencies main interface to the public.
- Ability to challenge the status quo while establishing higher standards of performance that support the agencies triple bottom line.
- Work with all departments across the agency that would benefit from your interface. " Superior interpersonal skills.

- 3-5 years of management experience, especially culturally diverse multi-skill level workforce.
- Education, Certificates and Licenses: 4 year college degree; Valid CDL
