Position Overview: 

The Director of Business Development is responsible for building out the Customer Service Specialist role. The responsibility of the Customer Service Specialist is to get customers for energy audits. Primarily, this is done through referrals from existing clients. The role of the Director of Business Development is to solidify our processes for the CSS position as well as to develop other successful methods of customer acquisition. Once we have a sound process for the CSS role, the Director of Business Development will be tasked with hiring a CSS to work under them and continuing to develop other methods of customer acquisition.

Qualifications: 

Job Requirements:

  • Business Development / Sales / Marketing experience
  • A motivated self starter
  • Computer literacy
  • Must have a bank account so direct deposits can be made bi-weekly
  • Superior verbal communications skills
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and provide work references

Preferred:

Ideally, the candidate will have 2 plus years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing. We are looking for a hardworking self starter who believes in our mission, sees the opportunity in residential energy efficiency, and will ultimately be a strong addition to our team and company culture. Our belief at Powersmith is that you cannot effectively manage a position you have not done yourself, therefore you cannot be afraid to get your hands dirty. You will be required to learn, develop, and execute the Customer Service Specialist role before hiring anyone to report to you.

Reporting Relationship:

The Director of Business Development will report directly to the founder and President.

Compensation: Annual compensation expectation: $60,000.00 to $85,000.00 plus benefits. Compensation is comprised of a base salary of $50,000.00 plus commission. Benefits include health care & dental as well as 10 days paid vacation, 3 paid sick days, and 6 holidays.
