Description
Chemonics International seeks a senior-level systems specialist in environment and natural resources management to direct complex international development projects and contribute to the development of new business.
Responsibilities include:
* Providing technical support to multidisciplinary projects
* Collaborating across regions and thematic areas
* Mentoring staff in professional and technical development
Additionally, the specialist will create benchmarks for improved environmental performance by identifying and sharing best practices in environmental management systems and methods.
Qualifications:
* Advanced degree in environmental management, industrial ecology, natural resource economics, or a related field
* Established leadership in at least four of the following six areas: environmental impact assessment; environmental trade policy; watershed and water resources management; supply chain management and competitiveness; application of voluntary and regulatory standards for social and environmental performance; and collaborative and adaptive management of environmental services and natural resources
* At least eight years of technically relevant experience in positions of increasing responsibility, including leadership at the field project level
* Experience working on USAID-funded projects
* Fluency in French preferred
* Established record in project design and written conceptualization of activities within USAID's strategic planning and programming structure
