Position Overview: 

The Education Technology Director works with the Illinois Green Economy Network administrative staff, faculty, and staff from partnering Illinois community colleges, and subcontracted to plan, develop, and incorporate online and hybrid curriculum into green career training and education programs for utilization by the statewide network of community colleges.

The Education Technology Director will work closely with the Career Pathways IT Systems Director to build an IGEN version of the US Department of Energy National Training and Education Resource (NTER) course management system designed specifically for the College of Lake County's U.S. Department of Labor Trade Adjustment Act Community College and Career Training Grant (TAACCCT).

The NTER system is an open source, 3D-enabled, Course Management System (CMS) which includes a sophisticated Ilias Learning Management System (LMS) and provides a variety of course authoring tools to instructors, such as Moodle, for creating and publishing learning content in a web-based course delivery environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
  • Knowledge of effective design and presentation strategies for faculty and staff.
  • Experience using technology to improve teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications (multi-platform preferred).
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
