Position Overview: 

The Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN) Director, College Partnerships will be responsible for providing leadership, management, and coordination to support the establishment, development, and maintenance of sustainability centers, green economy centers, employer partnerships, and a variety of sustainability initiatives at a growing number of Illinois community colleges.

IGEN is a partnership of all 39 Illinois community college districts and 48 campuses working with businesses and local communities to grow Illinois' green economy, providing new employment opportunities and healthy communities for all. The IGEN Director, College Partnerships will work consistently and closely with the IGEN Executive Director and other IGEN administrative staff to position the Illinois Community College System as a global leader in transforming education and the economy for a sustainable future.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Environmental Studies or related field.
  • Experience in a start-up environment and proven ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, as demonstrated by experience with coordinating multiple, diverse, complex tasks and working under pressure and deadlines.
  • Ability to interact with and foster a collaborative culture among faculty, administrators, college staff, community stakeholders, businesses and industry.
  • Capable of performing independently and in teams in a confidential manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency with various software applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets.
  • Have a valid driver's license with the ability to travel frequently, locally and regionally.
