Position Overview:
The Business Development Director will provide leadership in the planning and implementation of market and customer penetration strategies in order to cultivate and capture new business opportunities that enable Flextronics to exceed revenue and profit expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and communicate business development strategy and targets for region and/or market.
- Analyze and understand customer strategies, future product plans, and expansion activities to develop penetration strategies for new business opportunities.
- Cultivate customer relationships, deliver effective proposals, and negotiate contracts to capture profitable new business.
- Effectively brief and leverage executives on strategy and tactics to enhance customer relationships and consummate deals.
- Establish, communicate, and hold direct and matrix team accountable for proposal objectives and deliverables to maximize operating profit and revenue growth.
- Successfully negotiate difficult and/or critical business matters, through interaction with executive level managers both internally and externally.
- Represent and provide market exposure for Flextronics at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
Qualifications:
Required (Must-Have) Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in sales, business development or a related discipline.
- 7 plus years of progressive experience in business development roles; electronics contract manufacturing required.
- Knowledge of program management, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations functions.
- Dynamic builder of relationships with customers, with track record of identifying new areas of opportunity and negotiating complex business deals for mutual benefit.
- An effective communicator with customers, executives, peers, and subordinates.
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Well versed in all MS Office applications.
- Significant travel is required.
Desired (Nice-to-Have) Minimum Qualifications:
- MBA preferred.
- Multiple language capabilities are a plus.
- Solar and renewable energy experience is preferred.
