The Foundation
is committed to creating a future where forests are owned and sustained by the
public, and that the public understands the social, economic, and environmental
benefits forests provide to our communities, our nation, and the world. AFF
seeks a Director, American Tree Farm Systems (ATFS) Network to join the
dedicated and committed AFF team.
Position Overview
Reporting to the
Executive Vice President, ATFS, Woodlands, and Policy, the ATFS Network director,
in conjunction with the volunteer corps, develops and implements a strategy to
build capacity, spur innovation and continuous improvement, strengthen performance,
and grow the system’s impact on the ground with and through the volunteer
network.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily operations of the volunteer network, the
ATFS Network Director oversees all communications to the ATFS Committee
Leadership and ensures the requests and concerns of State Committees are
addressed.
- The new Director will demonstrate a clear passion for the AFF mission by actively engaging and interacting with a variety of constituents-volunteers, coworkers, business and community leaders, donors, board members, policymakers, and the general public.
- Finally,
to drive impact and performance, the Director creates a culture of continuous
improvement, learning and knowledge management within the ATFS network.
Qualifications
- The ideal
candidate is able to develop and execute a vision and strategy for the ATFS
volunteer network, with a proven ability to engage and nurture volunteers,
think critically and analytically, and clearly translate his/her ideas into
meaningful and effective actions.
- The successful candidate has a proven ability
to engage volunteers and is eager to assist them in reaching both committee
level and organizational level objectives to strengthen and expand the
on-the-ground impact of ATFS.
