Description
Business Ethics Network (BEN) is a project of Corporate Ethics International. The mission of BEN is to help its member organizations be more effective in their marketplace campaigns. The organization was founded in October 2003 and has nearly 50 member organizations after one year of operation. BEN provides corporate campaign research, materials, instruction, and consulting to its members. It produces a website, monthly instructional telephone conferences, a quarterly newsletter, and in the future, an annual conference and regular workshops nationwide on corporate campaign skills. BEN staff look for collaborative opportunities for their members and provide a facilitation/mediation function when necessary.
Location: Ideally Portland, OR (could be virtual)
Pay and Benefits: Extremely competitive with medical, dental, retirement, and vacations
Reports to: Michael Marx, Executive Director, Corporate Ethics International
Responsibilities include:
?Fund raising through individuals and foundations to support BEN
?Developing a five year strategic plan to guide the network's growth
?Recruiting new member organizations from advocacy and solutions NGOs
?Expanding the international membership of the network
?Coordinating the quarterly newsletter and monthly education conference calls
?Providing campaign consulting to member organizations as appropriate
?Developing corporate campaign educational materials for the website
?Designing, conducting and contracting for corporate campaign workshops
?Planning an annual conference for members
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
?Experience directing a corporate marketplace campaign
?Knowledge of corporations, possibly some experience working inside
?Experience with campaign grassroots and NGO organizing and recruitment
?Experience designing and conducting training programs
?Experience fund raising from individuals and grant-writing for foundations
?Excellent interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills
?Excellent time management and organizational skills
?Excellent writing skills with good research and editing abilities
?Entrepreneurial, sees opportunities and can operate independently
?Committed to the values of the progressive movement
