Position Overview

The Digital Content Manager will assist the Marketing and Public Relations Department in all aspects of promotion and communications for Nashville Zoo. Primary responsibilities include management, implementation and reporting of the Zoos digital marketing initiatives including, website, social media, e-mail, search engine optimization, mobile technology and digital advertising. Along with the marketing and public relations team, this position will work with all departments to create and carry messages that promote stories about the Zoos exhibits, events, campaigns, programs, and conservation initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the digital newsletter and promotional emails through the Zoos email management platform (Emma)
  • Manage the Zoos owned media content calendar
  • Work with the Communications Specialist to monitor and contribute to the Zoos social media platforms, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok
  • Work with the Marketing and Public Relations Director to develop digital marketing strategies and campaigns for the Zoo
  • Collaborate with other departments on digital marketing campaigns
  • Ensure all digital marketing campaigns are created and executed according to plans
  • Work with the Development Department to ensure sponsor recognition is being properly executed as it relates to the Zoos digital assets
  • Monitor analytics and maintain reports that measure the effectiveness of the Zoos digital assets including website, social media, e-news and advertising
  • Serve as Zoo webmaster Supervise the Marketing Content Assistant to update and maintain website
  • Supervise the Marketing Content Assistant to update and maintain the Zoo app
  • Create and maintain online forms, apps and other tools used on the Zoos web platform
  • Develop, design and implement new web and digital initiatives
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of current trends, best practices and emerging technologies online and in the digital space and apply that knowledge to the Zoo
  • Manage the Marketing and Public Relations Departments internship program
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of digital marketing and promotions
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude
  • Ability to explain digital strategies to others
  • Strong web design skills
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and experience with Sitewrench/Capacity or similar content management system
  • Knowledge of photo and video editing software preferred
  • Some knowledge of graphic design software including Adobe Suite preferred
  • Proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work on a computer for long periods of time
  • Occasional lifting of no more than 25 lbs
  • Must be able to work outside for long periods and on occasional nights and weekends

Education:

  • College Degree in Communications or Marketing or similar
  • Experience in digital marketing, email management, and social media
  • Experience in web design and maintenance is a must
