Position Overview:

We are looking for a part-time Development Director to join our staff team

This is a part-time (22.5 hours a week) position starting August 10th, 2010.

The Development Director is responsible for developing and managing CoDev's fundraising programs, including planning and implementing CoDev's monthly donor, major gift, annual fund, organizational supporter and planned giving campaigns. The Development Director acts as staff liaison to the fundraising committee, providing guidance and support to leadership volunteers.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage CoDev's monthly donor, organizational donor, annual donor, membership and planned giving programs
  • Write and coordinate appeals, stewardship reports, and donor communication materials
  • Prepare and maintain the multi-year fundraising plan in conjunction with the fundraising committee
  • Identify, cultivate and solicit major donors in collaboration with volunteers
  • Manage donor database with support from the CoDev Administrative Director
  • Work with the fundraising committee to develop CoDev's policies and procedures to support fundraising activities.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related area or equivalent related experience
  • Extensive experience developing, implementing, and managing fundraising programs
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and plan ahead
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a group
  • Experience working in Central or South America an asset

Compensation:  This bargaining unit position has a starting wage of $24.61 per hour and is subject to the provisions of the collective agreement.
