Description
The Leelanau Conservancy a highly successful land trust, located in the northwest corner of the lower peninsula of Michigan, has an immediate opening for a Director of Development.
The Director of Development will work with the Executive Director and the Fund Development Committee to set fundraising goals which will enable the Conservancy to successfully carry out its land protection projects and programs.
Responsibilities include activities to achieve the fundraising goals with a focus on the development of major gifts, capital campaigns and project-specific fundraising, foundation grants and planned gifts. This position requires the ability to research prospects, work with donor databases, plan initiatives, organize priorities, develop and execute major and planned giving strategies.
The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of organization, and experience with major gifts, capital campaigns and project specific fundraising, donor/board relations and planned gifts. Experience with land trusts or conservation organizations a plus, but not essential. A passion for our work is a must. EOE.
