This is a skills-building internship program, in which interns will take on significant projects to advance Corporate Accountability International's mission, including our Think Outside the Bottle Campaign, challenging corporate control of water, and our Value [the] Meal campaign, challenging corporate abuse of our food. The projects will be coupled with training sessions on action planning, campaign research, media outreach, fundraising, recruitment, direct pressure tactics, and many others.
Position Overview:
The Development and Membership Outreach Intern will work with our team of fundraisers and membership outreach staff as they organize and engage our members across the country in support of our campaigns.
Responsibilities:
- Help coordinate and carryout several aspects of an all-staff end of year phone bank,
- Help design and coordinate special mailings to specific member groups,
- Conduct philanthropy research and generate reports,
- Communicate with members and respond to member information requests,
- Support administrative systems, including updating member records and organizing member data.
- Lead and track efforts to cultivate members and develop their understanding of our campaigns,
- Participate in campaign and organizational building activities.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to corporate accountability and/or progressive social change
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially on the phone
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, professional demeanor and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines
- Experience or interest in organizing or fundraising
Location: Campaign Headquarters: 10 Milk Street, Suite 610, Boston, MA 02108
Length of Internship: Spring Semester - January 17 through May 13
Hours: Minimum commitment of 8 hours /week with occasional additional hours for events. Days are flexible depending on student schedule and internship manager needs.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Training: Receive training from experienced staff on member outreach strategy and tactics.
