Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Managing Director, the Design Director will promote design excellence on all projects developed in the NYC Office, while playing a major role in marketing presentations, tracking leads, client presentations and business development. This entrepreneurial + innovative thought leader will be responsible for creating and communicating sustainable workplace strategies to new and existing clients while leveraging the firm's international talent and resources.
The Design Director will collaborate with team members from the conceptual design phases through project completion, providing design input and conducting design reviews. He/She will direct the formation of workplace design concepts + solutions during the design development, schematic design, programming and space planning phases of projects.
A dynamic and fully engaged communicator, he/she will maintain and develop progressive relationships with current clients and prospective clients, documenting client interface and distributing appropriate information to partners and business development colleagues. This key role requires a talented and collaborative leader interested in creating innovative, sustainable and compelling workplaces that effectively respond to client's needs and business objectives.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years progressive Design Leadership experience w/ Corporate Interiors focus.
- Bachelor or Masters Degree: Architecture or Interior Design
- Licensed Professional preferred
- LEED AP preferred
- Excellent reputation in NYC w/ International design exposure + expertise
- Proven track record identifying leads, developing relationships, building a network and producing high quality projects
- Passion for Mentoring younger design talent
- Ability to work with SketchUp and ADT. Revit a plus.
