Description
Background:
The Campaign for America's Wilderness, is a new non-profit environmental group
working to permanently protect the nation's wild lands for future
generations.
Duties:
We are seeking an energetic, creative, highly motivated individual
to help implement press activities around a national campaign to raise
public awareness, mobilize citizens, and pass legislation to add land to the
National Wilderness Preservation System.
Responsibilities include writing op-eds, news releases, and statements,
promoting Campaign leaders to radio and TV talk shows, and developing and
maintaining strong relationships with reporters, editors and producers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of public relations experience,
preferably in environmental issues.
Candidates should have a solid track
record of media placement, excellent writing and verbal skills, and the
ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Experience with advocacy, political
communications work and coalition efforts a plus.
The Deputy Director will
report directly to the Communications Director, and will play a key role in
the development of effective communications strategies and campaigns.
Bachelors degree and strong PC skills required.
